Small batch, very yummy Elderberry immune support elixir with magical Birch Polypore, gathered from a local forest I’ve been visiting for almost seven years. For this elixir, I’ve also added warming roots + spices, creating a tasty, cosy, and powerful medicine that can be taken throughout autumn + winter to support the immune system. This is a large 300 ml bottle, offering approx 60 servings of the medicine.
Elder, of course, is the star of this elixir, traditionally known to support the immune system, especially during seasonal transitions and at the first signs of cold or flu. Elder is a deep restorative tonic for the immune system and can be used to support daily wellness, during onset of illness, as well as the cardiovascular + respiratory systems. Studies show that Elderberries may have the ability to block viruses from entering our cells, where they would normally replicate. The berries are rich in flavonoids, which are cooling and anti-inflammatory, helping the body to fight cold + flu, as well as protect from excess heat + inflammation. Protection on cellular + energetic levels. Elder is also a strong protective medicine for our spirits, offering energetic boundaries + protection.
Birch Polypore was slowly decocted to extract polysaccharides such as beta-glucans, which are largely responsible for the immune-enhancing + immune-modulating activity. Their fragrance is so beautiful, and they are bitter. This beautiful fungi grows abundantly in my local forest and is one of the most beautiful beings. I am sooo in love. This season, we gathered so many. Birch Poly is a cherished mushroom back home, traditionally worked with as a tonic to support the immune system, address gastrointestinal issues, and as a wound healer. To this day, it is worked with to treat intestinal infections + parasites. There are many studies involving Birch Polypore, some revealing that the fruiting body may posses antitumour activity and may destroy certain harmful cells without harming healthy cells. It has also been shown to offer protection against bacterial + viral infections, reduce inflammation, and support gut health. To me, Birch Polypore holds us when we are healing, cleansing, purging what no longer serves, when we are shedding. They guide us, protect us, and walk with us into new chapters + new beginnings.

☾ Fresh batch of Mugwort hydrosol conjured during the hours of the Moon. Her leaves + flowers were harvested during the hour of Venus and distilled using a traditional copper alembic still. ☾It’s been a year since I last offered Mugwort Hydrosol, and it always feels so beautiful to share, as Mugwort was the very first hydrosol I ever crafted, over six years ago. The process of distillation is an art and an alchemy, a very intimate ritual that requires full presence, attention + patience. I typically begin distillation season and craft Mugwort hydrosols around the Summer Solstice, always on the day of the Moon, or during the Full or New Moon.
Mugwort is ruled by the Moon + Venus, and I’ve been feeling a strong pull to work with Venusian energies, to harness her archetypal dynamics alongside the Lunar. The Artemisia in my medicine garden is over six years old, grown from seed, becoming bushier and wilder with each passing year. She often grows over two metres tall by late autumn, when I harvest her all the way down and craft the final batch of hydrosol, infused oils, and tinctures from her leaves + flowers. I feel that hydrosols are often underappreciated, yet they offer so many therapeutic + protective properties. Hydrosols are much gentler, safer, and more sustainable than essential oils, while still offering many of the benefits associated with aromatherapy and skincare. Most hydrosols can be applied directly to the skin without dilution and are unlikely to cause irritation when used appropriately. They are considered suitable for use around children and pets.
Artemisia vulgaris has been worked with for centuries across many cultures as a visionary and dreamwork herb. She is a deeply protective ally, known to support dream recall and visions, while bringing balance to emotional and mental energy. An ancestral plant for many of us, Mugwort is surrounded by countless stories, tradition + magic. She is an incredibly versatile plant friend with many healing properties {see other listings for Mugwort medicines}.
The fragrance of this hydrosol is intoxicating, earthy, awakening deep memories within. Her aroma fills the air in my home each time I sit in deep Ceremony during the distillation process, always gently shifting my consciousness. Working with Mugwort throughout spring, summer, and late autumn, especially when she is in flower, allows me to connect with the energies of each season and her medicine in all stages, from maiden to mother to crone. I find the younger spring leaves to be less bitter, though their fragrance remains very potent. Deep gratitude for Mugwort’s teachings + medicine.
Mist as energy cleansing + protection spray. Add it to the bath to soothe sore muscles and joints and to clear stagnant energy, or spray onto your pillow before bedtime for visioning and dreamwork. Lovely to work with alongside herbal infused oil. Use in divination practices and meditation to clear the mind, harmonise energy, cleanse your space, and commune with well Ancestors. Lovely to work with alongside herbal infused oil. Mist onto the skin for hydration, or to soothe rashes and irritated skin. I love using it on my face just before applying my serum or moisturiser.
About hydrosols
Hydrosols {from the Latin hydro, meaning water, and sol, meaning solution}, also known as hydrolats, plant waters, or flower waters, are the aromatic waters that remain after the process of steam or hydro-distilling essential oils from plants. During distillation, steam passes through plant material, capturing the plant’s spirit and volatile compounds, then condenses back into water, resulting in a fragrant, potent liquid rich in therapeutic properties.
Ingredients:
Hydro-steam distilled hydrosol of home grown Mugwort {Artemisia vulgaris}, Moon, Venus + Love
*Store in the refrigerator for up to 12 months.
Plants as Guides & Divine Mirrors
Here, I share stories from my journey with the plants — as teachers, healers + initiators, weaving in astrology, dreamwork + the path of poison. This space is rooted in reverence, lived experience + my relationship with the seen + unseen. Some of the most potent lessons have come through baneful allies like Belladonna, Datura + Foxglove, who continue to guide my way. May these reflections help you remember your own medicine, trust your intuition + honour the gifts you came here to share♡
Flower Essences + Poison as Medicine
Flower medicines offer a safe + powerful way to work with poisonous plants, as they contain no physical parts - only the plant’s unique frequency, spirit + energetic imprint. Each plant possesses its own unique personality + vibe. When we engage with flower essences, we open ourselves to receive their subtle healing and allow that unique frequency into our being. Many poisonous plants are often misunderstood and feared, but even to this day, they are honoured and worked with as medicine by skilled and knowledgeable plant people. When approached with deep reverence, integrity, and clear intention, these potent plant allies offer us a mirror. They invite us to create a space within our hearts, a space where we can confront sacred wounds, engage in ancestral healing, and tend to intergenerational traumas. This deep communion with the plants offers profound healing, transformation + wisdom. Lastly, a reminder that connection doesn’t always requires ingestion. Plants are sentient and intelligent beings - we can call upon their spirit, gaze at the image, or simply spend a few moments in presence with them. It is in these quiet moments that the plants reach us, offering healing through our hearts, through the energy , remembrance + relationship. And they will always find a way to find us, when we create the space to listen.
